
Sony has demonstrated a new Walkman S740 at the Sony Dealer Convention in Japan. There is no further info about the specs. However, we know that this gadget will be available in 8GB and 16GB of storage capacities. Stay tuned for more updates. [Engadget]

Omar from Sony Europe provides us with a demo video of the Sony S540 MP3 player. According to Omar, the S540 provides a 42-hours battery life for audio playback or 6.5-hours for video playback. It also has built-in stereo speakers and an FM radio. Video after the jump. More

The S540 is the latest version of Sony’s Walkman S-series line-up. This new DAP is equipped with a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD screen, new built-in speakers allowing users to share music out loud, a voice recorder, an FM radio and supports MP3, WMA, AAC audio files as well as H.264 and WMV video files. Its battery provides up to 42 hours of music playback and up to 6.5 hours of video playback. The 8GB model retails for $110, while the 16GB model for $130. [DVICE]

The Sony X-series OLED walkman is now listed in the Amazon.com, which includes the price tag, however an estimated release date remains unknown at the moment. The 32GB version is priced at $399, meanwhile the 16GB version sells for $299.
