Cowon has showed off its new P5 PMP at Story Lounge in Korea. Available in black, platinum and red, The gadget is powered by RMI Alchemy Au1250 700MHz processor and a 5-inch LCD color screen with 800 x 480 resolution. The P5 also sports DMB, an FM radio, voice recording, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB Wibro host. Its battery provides enough power for up to 9-hours of video playing or 14-hours of music playing time. You can now purchase the Cowon S9 32GB portable media player at Amazon.com for $299. Available only in titanium black, the gadget features a 3.2-inch AMOLED display with 16 million color support at 480 x 272 resolution, Bluetooth connectivity, an integrated voice recorder with internal microphone, a built-in FM radio and TV out. Its battery provides up to 11 hours of video playback or 55 hours of audio playback on a full charge. [Amazon]
The Cowon S9 PMP has received another firmware update. The version 1.1. offers some improvements including an extended battery life to 10.5 hours of video playback, enhanced photo reproduction, DivX 3.0 support, and subtitle support during audio and video playback. [PMPToday]
Cowon has confirmed that they will release the Cowon D2+ in Japan next week. As a reminder, the gadget features a 2.5 inch QVGA LCD, and a SDHC card slot (up to 32GB SDHC cards). The player is currently available in 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB storage space. However, the Japanese version will not be sold with a BMD TV tuner. [Akihabara]
