Marubeni will release a new wood style iPod docking station. The dock is available in two versions to choose from either the American Walnut or Scandinavian Birch. Both feature a USB connection and two 1W speakers with a frequency response of 180Hz-20,000Hz, and are compatible with IPod Classic and iPod Nano. Pay about 60€ for the Scandinavian Birch and 65€ for the American Walnut. [Akihabara]

I personally think that they are cool looking. I realize that there have been a ton of gen-3 iPod Nanos sold but given that the next gen iPod nano will probably be released by September (that is if Apple sticks to their usual plan) it might have been prudent to wait until then to release this product (ok, I know it can take months to a year to get a product to market and apple never prereleases info/specification). Perhaps some kind of modular dock feature to allow for future upgrades instead of having to retool the entire product.
